Viking bead replica with granulation decoration.

This replica of a Viking bead is modelled on a historical find from the 9th - 10th century, which was made using an elaborate granulation technique.

In the granulated beads of the Viking Age, small balls and fine wires were soldered onto the bead in intricate detail work.
Our Viking bead, on the other hand, is cast entirely in one piece, and the filigree design is magnificently expressed.

Viking bead dimensions: 1.5 x 1.6 cm. Hole diameter 4 mm.

This Viking bead is available in high-quality bronze and in genuine silver-plated.

In Viking times it was very common to decorate beads for necklaces with an elaborate filigree granulation decoration in the form of fine silver wires, strings of beads and spheres. Goldsmiths knew excellently how to produce these filigree Viking beads with the simplest means.
