About us - what you've always wanted to know about Pera Peris …
In 1987, at 17 years of age, Peer Carstens met with the Berlin Reenactment Group Gotarike - Forum for the representation of medieval culture of Northern Europe, which was particularly active in the field of performance and experimental archaeology and participated in various museum projects in the museum village of Großraden near Schwerin several times on the days of experimental archaeology and during the museum weeks at the Trellborg open-air museum in Denmark.
Since 1988, Peer Carstens was honorary director of the Leather Group in the Düppel Museum in Berlin until, in 1995, he became self-employed in a room size of tiny 12 m² to create leather goods from his own workshop and offer them from a mediaeval market stall on historic markets throughout Germany.
The factory premises were soon enlarged and in 2000 the Pera Peris wholesale was founded, which to this day sells mediaeval and reenactment items for resellers such as mediaeval market stalls, shops and onlineshops from the areas of Larp, Gothic, Medieval and Reenactment.
Pera Peris's goal was to distribute high-quality articles at reasonable prices based on historical models and on their own historic-inspired designs.
In addition to wholesale, the on-site sales experience at historical markets has not been neglected. Pera Peris is represented during the summer months and the Christmas season with two mobile market stands at numerous historical events throughout the Germany.
In 2007, along with the online presence and distribution via the Internet, the import of articles into the business concept was added. Here, too, a great deal of attention has been paid to the realization of own product developments and designs as well as high quality standards.
Since 2010, Pera Peris has been located in the new company building in Dippoldiswalde-Reinholdshain, covering a total of 200 m².
In 2011, the new website went online after long labor pains.
