Viking Style Dress Fastener
This dainty robe hook is inspired by Viking models in the Urn style. This art style was very popular at the end of the Viking Age from 1000 - 1100 AD.
The Viking dress fastener is designed in the shape of two Midgard serpents and is pleasantly light. This makes this Viking garment hook very suitable for fastening tunics and dresses.
The Viking robe hook can be easily sewn onto the robe with a needle and thread using the three small round holes on the edge of the motif.
The robe hook is made of real bronze and is also available in silver-plated. Alloy...
The dimensions of the Viking robe hook are 6.5 x 3.2 cm.
The Urnes style was used on a variety of jewellery towards the end of the Viking Age as a decorative element and was widespread in northern Europe from Ireland to Russia. The stave church of Urnes, in the Norwegian village of Ornes near the Sognefjord, gave the style its name.
It was built around 1100 and is considered the oldest stave church in the world. The Urnes Stave Church combines the traditions of Viking art with Celtic influences and the architectural forms of the Romantic period and thus gave its name to an entire art movement, the Urnes style.
