Viking cloak clasp in the shape of the Midgard serpent.
This pretty cloak clasp is inspired by a Finnish sword handle in Urnes style, dating from 1000 - 1100 AD.
The Viking cloak clasp is designed as a Midgard serpent and is pleasantly light. This makes this dress fastener ideal for fastening tunics and dresses.
With needle and thread, the Midgard serpent cloak clasp can be easily sewn onto the robe using the small round holes on the edge of the motif.
The Viking cloak clasp is made of bronze and is also available in real silver-plated.
Dimensions of the robe hook: 9.5 x 2.5 cm.
The Urnes style is typical of a variety of jewellery found at the end of the Viking Age in the northern region from Ireland to Russia. The Urnes Stave Church is located in the Norwegian village of Ornes near the Sognefjord and was built around the year 1100.
It is considered the oldest stave church in the world. The Urnes Stave Church remarkably combines the traditions of Viking art with Celtic influences and the architectural forms of Romanticism and gave its name to an entire art movement, the Urnes style.
