Viking knife blade made of Damascus steel with 256 layers.
This knife blade made of high-quality damask steel is based on a historical model from the Viking town of Jorvik and is ideal for an authentic Viking knife.
The Damascus steel "Jorvik" knife blade is provided with a long tang, which is used to attach it to a wooden or bone handle.
The Viking knife blade is forged from two different types of steel:
Firstly, from AISI 4340 is a hard tempering steel, which has a low carbon content, contains nickel and chromium as well as molybdenum and has a high toughness, and secondly, from 15N20 a nickel-containing steel with good properties, which produces beautiful bright parts and good contrasts when processed in Damascus steel.
Both steels together produce the beautifully flamed Damascus steel. Each piece forged from this steel has its own distinctive pattern. The hardness level is 58 to 60 HCR Rockwell.
Dimensions of the Viking knife blade "Jorvik":
Total length 18 cm
Cutting edge 10 cm
