Polished knife blade made of high-carbon steel.

Here you can buy a beautifully shaped knife blade in long dimensions, made of carbon steel 1085.

Forged knife blades with tang were already used by Celts, Romans, Germanic tribes and Vikings and were still common during the High Middle Ages. Therefore, this blade is also perfectly suited for an authentic re-enactment of those eras.

The knife blade is equipped with a so-called tang, which is inserted into the wooden or bone handle for attachment.

Dimensions of the knife blade:
Total length 21.5 cm
Cutting edge 11.5 cm
Blade width 2.5 cm
Blade back 0.3 cm
Handle tang 10 cm

The knife blade comes well sharpened. The hardness of the blade is 54 to 56 Rockwell.

Blades made of carbon steel are basically not rustproof, which is why they are easy to sharpen. They should always be kept dry and oiled occasionally after use so that little patina or even rust stains form.
