Knife blade made of genuine damascus steel with 176 layers.
Extra large knife blade in early medieval design of genuine Damascus steel with 176 layers for making medieval or Viking knives.
Knife blades made of damascus steel were already known to the Romans and Celts. But blades made of damask were also highly valued by the Teutons and Vikings because damascus steel blades combine hardness with elasticity. A blade made of genuine Damascus steel is therefore both durable and unbreakable.
This damask steel blade is forged from two types of steel into one damascus steel: AISI 4340, a hard tempering steel with a low carbon content that contains molybdenum in addition to nickel and chromium and has a high toughness.
And from 15N20, a nickel-containing steel with good properties, which produces good contrasts and beautiful, bright parts and in the Damascus steel. Both steels forged together produce the beautifully flamed Damascus pattern. The hardness of the blade is 58 to 60 HCR Rockwell.
The tang of this knife is 12 cm long so that it can be led through the entire handle and riveted at the end, as was often the case with medieval knives.
The Damascus knife blade has the following dimensions:
Total length 25 cm
Cutting edge 14 cm
Tang 12 cm
Blade back 3 mm
Blade width 2.8 cm
