Knife blade modelled on medieval knives.
This timelessly beautiful knife blade is suitable for almost any purpose, but especially for medieval knives.
In the early Middle Ages, forged knife blades were very often equipped with a tang and were also used by the Teutons and Vikings. This inexpensive knife blade makes it possible to make an authentic medieval knife yourself with little effort.
The blade is based on historical models from the time of the Teutons and Vikings as well as the early Middle Ages in the period between 500 and 1200 AD.
The knife blade has the following dimensions:
Total length 24 cm
Cutting edge 14 cm
Blade width 2.8 cm
Blade back 0.3 cm
The long medieval knife blade is made of 1095 carbon steel, a classic among knife steels. This steel is therefore quite tough and can be sharpened very well, with a solid service life. A 1095 carbon steel blade is indeed hard to break down and a reliable "workhorse" - hard, flexible, unbreakable!
We recommend keeping the knife blade dry and treating it occasionally with a little oil to prevent any flash rust.1095 is an unalloyed and rustproof tool steel with a hardness of 54 HRC Rockwell and a carbon content of 0.90 to 1.03 % with a manganese content of 0.3 to 0.5 %.
