Hand forged Thor's Hammer from the Viking Age.
This small, forged Thor’s Hammer was made from a single piece of iron after the discovery of a Viking Age Mjölnir find.
The model for this simply designed Thor's Hammer is a reading find from the Viking Age, which was recovered at Hästa Gård in the Swedish province of Uppland.
The simply formed Thor's Hammer measures 2,8 x 2 cm and is provided with a forged eyelet. So you can wear the forged Thor's hammer around your neck with the included leather strap as a pendant.
In the 9th and 10th century the Thor's Hammer was quite popular and widespread as an amulet among the Vikings because with the so-called Mjölnir one could distance oneself as a heathen from the more and more emerging Christianity.
The Vikings called the Thor's Hammer Mjölnir, which meant Malmer or lightning because the Thor's Hammer was the magic war hammer of the Nordic god Thor, with which he fought the giants and the Midgard snake.
Besides precious Mjölnir pendants made of bronze and silver, several finds of Thor's Hammer amulets forged from iron are known from the Viking Age.
