This Thor's hammer was hand-forged from a single piece of iron, based on an original from the Viking Age.

The historical model for this impressively simple iron Thor's hammer is a Viking Age find from Adelsö in the Swedish province of Uppland.

The simple iron Thor's hammer is 4 cm long and 2 cm wide.

Thus, the forged Thor's hammer can be worn as an amulet around the neck with the included leather strap or chain.


In the 9th and 10th centuries, the Thor's hammer was very popular and widespread among the Vikings as a piece of jewellery - as a pagan, it was a way of distancing oneself from the growing Christianity.

In addition to high-quality Thor's hammers made of bronze or even silver, forged Thor's hammer pendants made of iron can also be found in archaeological finds from the Viking Age.

The Vikings called the Thor's hammer Mjölnir, which meant crusher or lightning because the Thor's hammer was the magic war hammer of the Norse god Thor, with which he fought the giants and the Midgard Serpent. Once Thor had thrown the Mjölnir, it always returned to the god's hand all by itself.
