The Gokstad Ship is one of the most impressive cultural sites of the Viking Age. The ship was named after the Gokstad farm, where the burial mound is located in which a Viking king and his longship were once laid to rest.
The Viking ship from Gokstad dates back to 901 AD and can be seen today in the Vikingskipmuseet on Bygdøy in Oslo alongside the no less famous Oseberg ship of Queen Asa.
