Short and broad skinner knife blade of damascus steel.
Here you can buy a beautiful Skinner knife blade that was forged from genius 176 layered damascus steel.
Knife blades made of Damascus steel were already in use by the Romans and Celts and reached the highest quality in the Arab world during the Middle Ages.
Blades made from Damascus steel were also highly valued by the Germanic tribes and Vikings, as a knife blade made from Damascus is characterised by its hardness and elasticity. A knife blade made of genuine Damascus steel therefore retains its edge and is unbreakable.
This beautiful skinner blade made from genuine damascus steel is perfect for making a fine damascus knife yourself at low cost. In this way, you can create your own personal, individual one-off piece that fulfils your own requirements in terms of form and function.
The damascus blade is made from two different types of steel:
At the one hand AISI 4340 which is a hard tempered steel that has a low carbon content, that also contains molybdenum in addition to nickel and chromium with high toughness.
At the other hand 15N20 a nickel-containing steel with good properties, which gives beautiful bright areas and good contrasts when used in damascus steel.
Both steels together produce a beautifully flamed damascus steel. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and has its individual damascus pattern.
The hardness of the blade is 58 to 60 HCR Rockwell.
