Anglo-Saxon drinking horn terminal.
That beautiful end for an early Medieval drinking horn was inspired by the historical drinking horn mounts of the Angla-Saxons during the early Middle Ages and the Viking Era.
The Anglo-Saxon drinking horn tip has two holes on the side for attaching it to the drinking horn.
The dimensions of the drinking horn end are as follows:
Total length 11 cm, width 2.5 cm, shaft length 8 cm. The inner diameter of the shaft at the base is 2 cm.
The drinking horn terminal is made from high-quality Bronze or real silver-plated.
Among the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons in the Early Middle Ages, the ends of drinking horns were often fitted with bronze or silver finials, which were frequently shaped like mythical creatures such as dragons or birds’ heads and could, in some cases, be of considerable length.
In addition to the finials, the rims of Viking-era drinking horns were usually also fitted with precious metal mountings all the way round.
