Hand forged Viking ring brooch for cape or caftan.

Here you can buy a simple Viking ring brooch, also called horseshoe or omega brooch, that was widely used in the Viking era for closing the garment.

The forged Viking ring brooch has elegantly rolled ends and was made by hand from a 4 mm round bar. The brooch has a beautiful matt black surface.

The slightly curved needle of 7 cm length is particularly suitable for grasping fabrics.

Diameter of the horseshoe brooch: 5 cm.

This iron ring brooch is well suited for closing a flap skirt or caftan and can also be used for a lighter cloak - ideal for garb in LARP or Viking reenactment.

The ring brooch is a garment clasp that is well over a thousand years old and has practical uses. Particularly in the Viking Age, but also among the Germanic tribes and Romans, the ring brooch was used to fasten robes and capes.
