A jingle bell like from the Middle Ages - 14 mm.

These cute little jingle bells in the shape of a ball are made of sheet iron and are available in antique, brass-plated or nickel-plated.

These miniature bells were not worn for their sound, but for decoration. In the Middle Ages, small bells like these were often used instead of a button to fasten a garment.

Over time, the bells tend to take on a duller colour and may even start to rust a little when exposed to moisture. If you want to avoid this, you should treat the bells with oil from time to time. Often, however, a more rustic appearance is even desirable in today's medieval garb.
