Viking ear rings in shape of a Gotland-Sphere.

These charming earrings are modelled on a small spherical rock crystal pendant from the Viking Age that was found on Gotland / Sweden and dates to the mid-11th century.

The original model for these spherical Viking earrings was a pendant comes from Domerarve / Öja on the island of Gotland and is now in the Statens Historiska Museet, Stockholm.

Unlike the historical original made of rock crystal, we offer the Gotland earrings with a ball made of glass, which also allows a less affluent clientele to wear this noble Viking jewellery.

The spherical Viking earrings are made of bronze and are also available in real silver-plated.

Dimensions: Ball diameter 1.2 cm. With hook 3.5 cm high.
The earrings come as a pair.

Spherical Viking pendants of rock crystal are remarkable evidence of the highly developed jewellery design in the late Viking Age and so far only known from the Swedish island of Gotland.

The rock crystal pendants are thus an absolute speciality in the jewellery of the Viking Age. Even complete necklaces made of rock crystal with silver settings and precious silver beads have been found on Gotland, which belong to the absolute masterpieces of Viking Age jewellery.
