Vendel Era serpent amulet from Gotland.
This zoomorphic amulet was modelled on a historical pendant from the Vendel period that was found on the Swedish isle of Gotland.
The Vendel serpent amulet dates to the end of the 7th century and was found in Bosavre near Stånga.
Openwork pendants depicting forming a Triskele in form of a serpent or ribbon-like animals are known from several finds from the Vendel period and seem to have parallels in form and size to contemporaneous Alemannic disc pendants from southern Germany.
In contrast to the historical original disc pendant with a diameter of about 6 cm, we have reduced the size of this replica to a diameter of 3.5 cm for use as an amulet.
