Here you can buy a detailed replica of a filigree Viking brooch, made in the Borre style of the 9th to 10th century.
The original of this Viking disc brooch was found in Trøndelag in Central Norway and described in the publication "Vikingetidens Smykker" by Jan Petersen. Link to the original Viking brooch...
Diameter of the Norwegian disc brooch: 5.5 cm.
You can buy the Viking disc brooch in high-quality bronze and in real silver-plated.
On the back of the Viking brooch is a solid needle about 1 mm thick, which is used to attach the brooch to the garment. With the strong needle, the disc brooch also grips coarse fabrics, e.g. the woollen cloak.
The second of the major Viking art styles is known as the Borre Style and takes its name from the famous grave find of Borre in Vestfold on the Oslo Fjord in Norway, which dates to the 9th-10th century.
The Borre style is mainly characterized by mirror-symmetrical motifs, such as circles and squares, which are often expressed in interlace ornamentation.
