In the Viking Age, it was very common, especially in the Slavic region, to decorate necklaces, brooches and beads with an elaborate, filigree
granulation decoration in the form of fine silver wires, strings of beads and spheres, whereby the Slavic jewellery makers excellently understood how to produce small works of art in jewellery with the simplest of means.
