Ukraine Tamga pendant with a Rurikid trident.
This pendant in the shape of a so-called Rurikid trident was made after a medieval tamga dating from the early 11th century.
The historical model for this medieval trident pendant is a so-called tamga of St. Vladimir I, which was found in Smolensk and comes from the excavation layer of the years 1006 - 1025 AD.
The trident on this tamga represents the emblem of the Rurikid dynasty of this era, which can be recognised in a similar form in the Tryzub on the national coat of arms of today's Ukraine.
The Rurikid trident has the dimensions are 3.3 x 1.7 cm.
You can buy this Viking pendant in high-quality bronze or real silver-plated.
Alternatively, also available in 925 sterling silver (Please note the delivery time). Alloy...
A black leather strap in 1 m length is included.
The tryzup is today the small national emblem of Ukraine. However, the historical roots of the Ukrainian trident go much further, as the first historical evidence dates back to the time of the Rus, who used the trident as a symbol on coins and rulers' signs, so-called tamgas, from around 1000 AD.
There are many legends about the meaning of the Ukrainian trident, but it is assumed that it is of Tartar origin and was used on the tamgas of the Rurikid dynasty in the early Middle Ages as a symbol of power.
