Medieval lovers charm with the lettering "Amours".

This medieval lovers charm in the shape of a bust was made true to detail after a medieval sign and bears the inscription "Amours".

The model for this medieval lovers charm was a pilgrim's sign from Amsterdam dating from 1350-1449 AD. The original is now in the possession of the Beuningen family collection.

Link to the historical model...

The word "Amours" can be found on several medieval charms or pilgrim badges and means love, which suggests that it was used as a love offering between two lovers.

The medieval lovers charm measures 2.5 x 2.2 cm and thus almost corresponds to the original size.

The charm is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in genuine silver-plated.

A black leather strap in 1 m length is included with the medieval charm.

The medieval badges with the inscription Amours, unlike the crude erotic wearing signs of the same epoch, are a serious version of love, which was designed with love signs such as crowned hearts, with chaste busts, with flowers and the like, i.e. varieties of courtly love, which were also adopted by lower social classes in the late Middle Ages and depicted in a generally understandable iconography.
