Double Ouroboros pendant with two snakes.

Here you can buy a remarkable amulet in the shape of two snakes, a so-called double Ouroboros.

The ouroboros is also known as the serpent of eternity. The term comes from the ancient Greek Οὐροβόρος and literally means "tail devourer", a mystical creature in the form of a snake that bites its own tail and forms a closed circle with its body.

A double ouroboros, i.e. two serpents devouring each other, is understood in alchemy as a symbol of volatility. Spiritually, however, it also symbolises the balance of upper and lower nature. The double ouroboros is also seen as a symbol of infinity.

Ouroboros amulet dimensions: 4.5 x 3.9 cm.

You can buy the serpent pendant in high-quality bronze or genuine silver-plated.
Alternatively, you can also order it in 925 sterling silver (please note delivery time).
Alloy...

A 1 metre long black leather strap is included with the Ouroboros amulet.

The Ouroboros was already a well-known motif in Ancient Egypt and appears on one of the shrines surrounding the sarcophagus of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. It also appears in an ancient alchemical text written by Cleopatra.

In alchemy, the ouroboros symbolises a self-contained process of transformation of matter. It is a symbol of cosmic unity that moves eternally through the centuries and cultures of the world in a circular infinity.

The Midgard Serpent in Norse mythology also represents an ouroboros because according to legend, it bites its own tail and thus forms a closed circle that spans the world.

The model for the mystical Ouroboros may have been the so-called Ouroborus cataphractus, a lizard from southern Africa that bites its own tail in its defensive posture and thus looks very similar to the historical depictions.
