A black leather strap in 1 m length for the spear amulet is included.
The spearhead of Kovel was found in 1858 in the Ukrainian town of Kovel and is dated to the first half of the 3rd century AD and is considered to be Gothic. The inscription on the spearhead consists of eight runes in a very old version of the Elder Futhark, which is written from right to left and reads "tilarids".
There is no clear translation of the inscription, but it is clear that the runes are to be read in two parts. "TIL" therefore means "destination", the second part is interpreted as the present participle of the verb Fahrt (Old Norse - Rida).
The whole word "tilarids" can therefore be read as "go to the goal", perhaps in the sense of "hit well".
