Scantling made of multi-layer wood for knife handles.
This brown coloured knife handle block is made of multi-layer wood and is ideally suited for creating a stylish handle for your own knife.
Knives with tang have been known since the earliest times and were the usual form among the Germanic tribes and the Vikings. Different types of wood were used as handle material, into which the tang was burnt.
In early medieval and Viking knives, the transition to the blade was supplemented by a disc made of bone or horn, which was inserted decoratively between the blade and the wooden handle.
In the High Middle Ages, on the other hand, more elaborate handles were often common and the so-called disc handles were popular, where the knife handle was fitted at intervals with a smaller or larger number of discs made of different materials.
The wooden block made of multilayer wood has the dimensions 12 x 3 x 4 cm.
