Hand-forged medieval hasp.

Here you can buy a medieval hasp that was completely forged by hand and captivates with its artfully curved bearded end.

As early as the time of the Celts and Romans, boxes and chests were shod with forged hinges and hasps. The sea chests of the Vikings and the chests of medieval households were also secured against unauthorised access with iron hasps and padlocks.

Of course, heavy chests made of oak with strong hasps and hinges were also found in medieval churches to secure the church treasure - crucifix, candlesticks, communion chalices - and the church book and other documents in troubled times.

The medieval hasp is very solidly forged and can withstand heavy use.
It measures 22 x 2-6 cm and is 3 mm thick.

The cramp measures 8.5 x 2.5 cm and has a clear width of 1.3 cm.

The hasp is provided on both sides with two holes each with a diameter of 5 mm for fastening.
Two stylish nails are included for fastening.
