Viking disc brooch in Ringerike style.

Here you can buy a Viking disc brooch with an open-work motif in so-called Ringerike style that was made after a Viking model from Gotland.

Diameter of the Viking disc brooch: 3.4 cm.

You can buy this Viking disc brooch in high-quality bronze or in real silver plated.

On the back, the Viking disc brooch has a sturdy needle, which is used to fasten the brooch to the garment, preferably to close the shirt neckline.

The Ringerike style is a Viking art style from Scandinavia that was widespread from the beginning to the second half of the 11th century and is named after the Norwegian landscape Ringerike.

The Ringerike style developed from the Mammen style in the early 11th century, with influences from Ottonian and Anglo-Saxon illumination gaining weight in Viking art.

The Ringerike style continued to use the motifs already common in the Mammen style, such as the lion (Great Beast), bird and snake, but tighter, clearer contours and a more naturalistic depiction dominated.
