Replica of a Noric-Pannonian two-button fibula.

This high-quality and detailed replica of a so-called two-button fibula or double-button brooch of the type Almgren 237 in variant C is made after a historical model from the 1st century.

The two-knob brooch was typical of the garb of Noricum and Pannonia, the area between the Danube and the Alps, where Austria, the western part of Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia are located today.

Fibulae of this type were usually worn by Romans and Germanic tribes as shoulder brooches on Noric-Pannonian women's garments and closed the so-called peplos,

These brooches were usually worn in pairs on the shoulders. Occasionally, however, brooches of this type were also found in Bohemian men's graves as single brooches.

The Norician-Pannonian fibula is equipped with a solid needle, which is also suitable for fastening strong fabrics.

You can buy this brooch in high-quality bronze or genuine silver-plated.
Alternatively, also available in 925 sterling silver (please note the delivery time).
