Large, strongly profiled Roman fibula as a replica.
Here you can buy a detailed replica of a large, strongly profiled fibula from the Roman imperial period of the 2nd to 3rd century.
Fibulae of the strongly profiled fibula type were widespread throughout the
Roman imperial period, particularly in the East Germanic provinces of the Roman Empire and in free Germania.
The historical model for this Roman fibula replica comes from a private collection and originates probably from the Roman
Balkan provinces, as it bears a strong resemblance to fibula finds from Viminacium, the main camp of the Roman Legio VII Claudia on the Balkan peninsula.

The strongly profiled fibula is a form of the so-called
crossbow fibula and is characterized by a rather short, strongly widened head, under which the support plate is located, which holds the spiral roll. The strongly profiled fibulae can be between 4 and 7 cm in size.
This type of brooch was widespread in the Roman period in the
East Germanic region, but was also found in northern Germany, northern Italy and the eastern Alps and was also used in the Danube provinces.
The type of strongly profiled fibula was used for a
very long time and even survived in Austria until the 4th century AD.
