Kidney pouch mount from the 14th and 15th centuries
This elegant replica of a kidney-shaped pouch mount was made according to a historical model from the late Middle Ages.
Curved pouch fittings are typical of the late Middle Ages. These kidney pouch fittings were always attached in pairs to the kidney pockets common in the late Middle Ages.
In addition to the desired decorative effect, the medieval kidney pouch fitting also had the function of weighing down the lid of the pocket and preventing the flap from sticking out.
The kidney pouch mount is available in brass or silver-coloured cast zamak.
Dimensions: 8 x 5 cm.
The price quoted refers to one kidney pouch mount. It therefore makes sense to order two fittings for a medieval kidney pocket.
The kidney pouch fitting has three 5 mm long pins on the back, onto which the small caps supplied can simply be attached. This allows the fitting to be fixed in place with a few light taps with a hammer.
