The Ringerike style is a Viking art style that was widespread in Scandinavia from the beginning to the second half of the 11th century and is named after the Norwegian landscape of Ringerike. The Ringerike style developed from the Mammen style at the beginning of the 11th century, with influences from Ottonian and Anglo-Saxon book illumination coming into play.

The Ringerike style uses the motifs already common in the Mammen style, such as the lion (large animal), bird and snake, but now emphasises tighter, clearer contours and a more naturalistic depiction. The striking tendril motifs common in the Mammen style were increasingly adopted from Ottonian and Anglo-Saxon models and give the Ringerike style its typical appearance.
