Belt buckle with Arabic floral ornament from the Middle Ages.

The Buckle Arabesque bears a pretty floral motif from the Arabian Middle Ages.

The Buckle Arabesque is suitable for a 4 cm wide belt and thus ideal for garments in LARP and medieval re-enactment. However, a belt with this buckle complements everyday clothing just as well.

On the back of the buckle is a small spike that is simply hooked into the belt holes and thus closes the leather belt.

The Arabesque buckle with the Arabic floral motif is available in brass or silver color. Made of quality zinc casting.

Diameter: 6.5 cm.

This buckle is also ideal for our interchangeable belts with push button or classic belt straps in 4 cm width.

The arabesque originally developed from Assyrian tendril ornaments and came to Europe in the 16th century with Moorish art via Spain. The motif of the arabesque consisted mostly of artistically intertwined lines of stylised plant tendrils.

Impressive arabesques can be found, for example, in the halls of the Alhambra in Granada. Arabesques also found their way into heraldry - while simple regular figures such as crosses and meanders were common in the Middle Ages, sweeping and ornate tendril designs became more and more popular in the Renaissance.
