Germanic knife made of genuine Damascus steel.
This sweepingly shaped knife based on models from the Germanic Iron Age was forged from Damascus steel with 256 layers.
The Germanic Damascus steel knife was forged from a single piece of Damascus steel and fits very well in the hand due to its curved handle.
Such knives are often referred to as Viking knives, which is unfortunately not entirely correct, as this form of knife was long out of use in Viking times. However, this does not detract from the beauty and utility of this knife.
The Iron Age Damascus knife comes with a leather sheath and is sharpened.
Knife length 15 cm, knife width 2.5 cm, blade length 7.5 cm.
The damascus Germanic knife is forged from wild damascus using two types of steel.
One is made of AISI 1095 carbon steel, a classic among knife steels, which, as an unalloyed and rust-resistant tool steel, is very tough and easy to grind, with a solid service life.
The other is made of AISI 4340, a nickel-containing chrome-molybdenum steel with good properties, which produces beautiful bright sections and noble contrasts when used in Damascus steel.
When both types of steel are forged together to form a knife, the result is a damascus finish full of character.
The hardness of the damascus blade is 56 - 58 HCR Rockwell.
