Small Celtic decorative rivet in the shape of a triple spiral.
This pretty decorative rivet, featuring a triple spiral in the Celtic style of the Bronze Age, is a lovely way to embellish leather accessories, such as hair clips, jewellery and belts.
The Celtic decorative rivet with the triple spiral is made from zamak and is available in brass or silver colour.
Diameter of the decorative rivet: 1.7 cm.
On the back of the decorative rivet is a 5 mm long pin, onto which a small cap (supplied) is simply fitted for fastening. This means the decorative rivet can be easily removed with a few light taps of a hammer on a frim ground.
The spiral is arguably one of humanity’s oldest symbols. Even the early Celts in the Bronze Age recognised the spiral as a symbol of the sun and a sign of growth and prosperity, for the sun has always shaped people’s lives. A clockwise spiral symbolised the waning winter sun, whilst the anti-clockwise spiral represented the sun of the summer half-year. The double spiral, in turn, symbolised the equinoxes – the beginning of spring and autumn.
