Print manufacturer information

Celtic torques based on models from the Latène period.

The necklace you can buy here is inspired by Celtic torques of the late Latène period and is characterized by the ends ending in spirals.

Such Celtic chokers made of bronze wire twisted together are dated to the Iron Age around 100 BC.
These include, for example, the torques from Ipswitch and Bawsey as well as other finds of Celtic torques from the late Latène period.

This Celtic neck ring is made of brass and has the dimensions: 18 x 18 x 0.8 cm.

The Celtic torques is suitable for a neck circumference of 40 to 50 cm and thus fits both women and men.

The intertwined wires ensure excellent flexibility. This means that the Celtic Torques can be bent open and closed without any problems and is therefore very comfortable to wear.

The torques was an important sign of rulership among the Celts of the Latène period. Therefore, such necklaces were worn especially by high-ranking personalities. The necklaces of the Celts were usually made of gold or silver and often had decorated end pieces.

Although the torques are usually associated with the Celts as jewellery, such chokers were also worn by Scythians and Germanic tribes. And even in late antiquity, the torques was an award for deserving legionaries in the Roman army.
