Bronze Viking bead with knot decoration.

This small Viking-style bead has been crafted based on historical examples of Viking-era running knot decorations.

In Viking beads, small spheres and fine wires were often soldered onto the bead using intricate, delicate craftsmanship.
Our Viking bead, on the other hand, is cast entirely in one piece, which allows the intricate detail to be shown to its best advantage.

Dimensions: 1 x 0.8 cm. Hole diameter 4 mm.

It was very common amongst the Vikings to decorate beads for necklaces with filigree designs, and Viking goldsmiths were masters at crafting these beads using the simplest of methods.

Embossed or cast base forms made from thin silver sheet were used as the foundation for the Viking beads, onto which the decorative elements were soldered. This often gave the impression that the delicate granulations were floating above the surface of the Viking bead.
