Viking pendant aferthbrooch from Lindholm Høje as a pendant.
This Viking pendant is based on a Viking brooch from Lindholm Høje near Aalborg, Denmark, dating to the second half of the 11th century.
The brooch from Lindholm Høje, after which this Viking pendant is modelled, was discovered in the rubble layer of a settlement whose inhabitants had probably found their final resting place in that burial ground.
The original brooch from Lindholm Høje is a good example of the Urnes style of the late Viking Age, named after the Norwegian stave church of Urnes. Viking jewellery in this style is found throughout the Viking Age in Scandinavia, England and northern Germany.
The Lindholm Høje brooch shows a beast fighting a serpent, which is considered an early Christian symbol for the struggle between good and evil and is often found as a motif in Viking jewellery of the Urnes style.
Dimensions pendant Lindholm Høje: 3,5 x 3 cm.
You can buy this Viking pendant in high-quality bronze or real silver-plated.

A black leather cord of 1 m length for the Viking pendant is included.
The burial ground of Lindholm Hoeje is located in the north of the island of Jutland in Denmark. With more than 700 graves, it is considered the largest burial ground of the Iron Age and Viking Age in Denmark. Lindholm Hoeje is particularly impressive because of the approx. 250 stone placements up to 10 metres long in the shape of Viking ships, which make this site an impressive testimony to that time.
