Viking earrings in the shape of Gotland spheres.

These enchanting earrings are modelled on spherical rock crystal pendants from the Viking Age that were found on Gotland / Sweden and date to the mid-11th century.

The historical model of the Viking rock crystal pendant comes from Domerarve / Öja on the island of Gotland and is now in the Statens Historiska Museet, Stockholm.

Unlike the original rock crystal models, we offer these Viking sphere earrings with a glass ball, which also allows less affluent customers to wear such noble Viking jewellery.

The Viking earrings are made of bronze and are also available in real silver-plated.

Dimension: Ball diameter 1 cm. With hook 3 cm height.
The earrings come as a pair.

Pendants made of rock crystal are remarkable evidence of the highly developed jewellery design in the late Viking Age and so far only known from the Swedish island of Gotland.

The rock crystal pendants are thus an absolute speciality in the jewellery of the Viking Age. Complete necklaces made of rock crystal with silver settings and precious silver beads have even been found on Gotland, which belong to the absolute masterpieces of Viking Age jewellery.
