Medieval amulet in the shape of the Fleur de Lys.
This beautiful amulet in the shape of a stylized lily is borrowed from historical models from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
The dimensions of the medieval pendant with the fleur de lys are 6 x 4.5 cm.
The pendant is made of cast zinc alloy and is available in the colours brass and silver.
A black cotton ribbon in 1 m length for the Fleur de Lys amulet is included.
According to legend, the lily was given to the Merovingian king Clovis I as a royal symbol by an angel who descended to earth from heaven, and thus the lily was considered the coat of arms of French kings throughout the Middle Ages.
But the lily was also regarded by the people of the Middle Ages as a symbol of purity and innocence, and so the Fleur de Lys, as the flower of light, was also symbolic of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Through the tripartite division of the lily blossom, the holy trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit was represented in the Fleur de Lys in the Christian context.
