Sword throat fitting for a Viking Age sword scabbard.
This scabbard throat fitting for a Viking Age sword is inspired by the so-called Dybek sword and is made in a filigree breakthrough technique.
The original sword scabbard fitting was made of gilded silver and was found in the Swedish village of Dybek in Skåne.
The dimensions of the sword scabbard fitting are 6.3 x 2 cm.
The inner width for the sword is 5.8 x 1.6 cm.
Due to the average dimensions, this scabbard fitting is perfectly suitable for a normal sword.
The scabbard fitting is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in real silver-plated.
The sword fitting is attached to the scabbard and is best fixed to the side with a so-called gap-filling adhesive. In addition, there are small openings in the motif, so that supplementary securing with thin pins or nails is also possible.
