Germanic knife from the Iron Age.
This hand forged knife was artistically made by hand from a single piece of carbon steel, following a historical model of the Scandinavian Iron Age.
The knife was modelled on a find from Dejbjerg in Denmark and is a typical representative of Germanic knives from the nordic Iron Age.
This type of knife is often attributed to the Viking Age and is often called a Viking knife. Historically, however, this is not quite correct, as such knives do not actually appear in the find material of the Viking Age, but date about 1000 years earlier. However, this does not detract from the beautiful form and practical value.
The Germanic Iron Age knife is delivered with a leather sheath and in basic sharpness and measures 18 x 3 cm. Cutting edge 9 cm.
The hardness of the knife is about 52 HCR Rockwell.
