Crafting kit for a Viking seax with damascus blade.
This crafting kit for an Anglo-Saxon broken-back seax of the Viking Age makes it easy to design a unique seax with genuine damascus steel blade to your taste.
The seax crafting kit includes a broken-back sax blade with 256 layers damascus steel, building instructions and various materials for the seax handle and leather for making a seax sheath.
The broken-back seax blade is made from genuine damascus steel with 256 layers.
At the one hand AISI 4340 is used, which is a hard tempered steel that has a low carbon content, that also contains molybdenum in addition to nickel and chromium with high toughness. At the other hand 15N20 is used, a nickel-containing steel, which gives beautiful bright areas and good contrasts when used in damascus steel.
Both steels together produce a beautifully flamed damascus steel. Each sax blade is one-of-a-kind and has an individual damascus pattern.
The hardness of the seax blade is 56 to 58 HCR Rockwell.
