Medieval arrowhead with barb.
Replica of a medieval barbed arrowhead based on historical models from the High Middle Ages and the Late Middle Ages.
This medieval arrowhead is placed with the socket on the arrow shaft, which was the common method of attaching the arrowhead in the Middle Ages.
The barbed arrowhead caused large, deep wounds. The barbs prevented the arrowhead from being pulled out, which left nasty injuries and often meant certain death in the Middle Ages.
The arrowhead is hand-forged as was customary in the Middle Ages and has a beautiful matt black finish.
Dimensions of the barbed medieval arrowhead:
Length 7.8 cm, width 3 cm, hole diameter 7 mm.
