Forged Viking brooch made of iron.
Here you can buy a forged Viking brooch that has been authentically made according to a historical model.
This detailed Viking brooch is made from a round iron rod 5 mm thick and the ends are formed into artfully rolled ends, just like the historical model.
Diameter of the brooch: 6 cm, needle 8 cm.
The needle of the forged Viking brooch is elegantly curved and thus fits the layers of fabric well without sticking out, making this brooch ideal for closing a light to medium-weight cloak.
Viking brooches in the shape of horseshoes made of iron are found at regular intervals in the finds of Scandinavia. This is because these forged garment clasps were common in the north for many centuries.
Especially in the Viking Age between 790 and 1060 AD, these forged Viking fibulae were worn by men and served to simply close their garments, especially heavy capes.
The needle of the brooch was simply pushed through the fabric of the cloak on the right shoulder and then locked with the horseshoe-shaped part so that the brooch could no longer come loose.
