Replica of the Anglo-Saxon brooch from Flintshire.
Here you can buy an authentic replica of a large Anglo-Saxon brooch from the Viking Age based on an original find from Wales
The Flintshire brooch was discovered in 2016 by a prospector in Flintshire, Wales, south-west of Liverpool, and was made of a copper alloy. The brooch dates to the 8th to 9th century AD and is privately owned.
The Flintshire brooch has an unusual, square-rounded shape and is dominated by a central cross, as is common on many Anglo-Saxon brooches of the Viking Age, with five small humps emphasising the cross shape.
Between the arms of the cross are four openwork figures depicting a four-footed animal facing backwards.
The decoration on the Flintshire brooch is typically Anglo-Saxon and resembles the brooches of the Galloway hoard. It is therefore almost certainly from the same period, i.e. the time of the great Viking raids on the English Isles.
The replica has a diameter of 7 cm and is therefore almost identical to the original Flintshire brooch.
There is a sturdy pin construction on the back of the brooch, which is also suitable for strong woollen fabrics.
You can buy this brooch in high-quality bronze or genuine silver-plated.
Alternatively, also available in 925 sterling silver (please note the delivery time). Alloy...
The attached bosses of the brooch are made of the contrasting material.
