Rus pouch fitting in the shape of a Tryzub-Trident.
This authentic replica of a Viking-era Rus pouch fitting with trident depiction was made true-to-detail after a 10th-century find.
Belt fittings were typical of the splendid saber pouches of the Rus and Magyars and were conveyed via the great trade routes as far as Scandinavia, which is why fittings of the Eastern type are very often found in Viking graves.
The historical model for this Rus pouch fitting was found with two other identical fittings on a sape rpouch in Adelsö / Sweden and shows a tryzub tamga of the Rurikid dynasty.
The trident was the emblem of the Rurikid dynasty in the 10th century and was later used as a model for the Tryzub on the national coat of arms of today's Ukraine.
The Rus fitting measures 1.8 x 1.8 cm and is made of high-quality bronze as well as available in genuine silver-plated.
Fastening: There are four pins on the back of the Rus bronze fitting. To fasten the decorative rivets, simply insert them through the corresponding holes in the leather. It is best to use pliers to bend the tip of the pin inwards a little. If you then tap the pins flat with a hammer, the tip sinks into the leather and the fitting is attached to the pouch in a stable and flat manner.
