Thor's Hammer buckle with Celtic knot.
The motif for this expressive Viking-based Thor's Hammer buckle is based on the find of the Mjölnir from Kabbarp, which was found in Skåne (Sweden).
The "Mjölnir" Thor's Hammer buckle is a successful interpretation of the original historical Thor's Hammer. On the background of the dynamic knotwork, the Thor's hammer stands out particularly well and comes into its own.
The Thor's Hammer buckle is suitable for belts with a width of 4 cm and is therefore ideal for jeans. Of course, it is particularly impressive on historical garments. For closing, the Thor's Hammer buckle has a small pin on the back to close the belt.
The Thor's Hammer buckle is made of zinc alloy and is available in brass or silver.
Diameter 6 cm.
The name Mjölnir for the Viking Thor's hammer means malmer or lightning in Old Norse and was the magical war hammer of the Viking god Thor, who fought the enemies of the gods, especially the giants and the Midgard Serpent, with the Mjölnir. Once thrown, the Mjölnir returned to Thor's hand of its own accord. The The Thor's Hammer was immensely popular among the Vikings in the 9th and 10th centuries as a piece of jewellery, as it allowed them as pagans to visibly distance themselves from the emerging Christianity.
