Leather Armour scales of solid leather in rectangle shape.

Here you can buy 50 rectangular leather scales of a strong grain leather from vegetable tanning, which provides excellent protection.

The leather scales are 3 - 3.5 mm thick and are just perfect for making a solid scale armour with optimal protection for larp, viking and medieval reenactment.

The scales are prepared with punched holes on all four corners. So, you can easily sew or rivet them side by side on an appropriate support material made of leather or fabric.

The dimensions are 8.0 x 5.0 cm, the hole size is 3 mm.

The leather scales are available in the colours black or brown, whereby the color shades can differ slightly among each other, creating a charming, iridescent color effect and each scale armour becomes an unmistakable unique specimen!

The package contains 50 scales of solid grain leather of one color each.


Leather scales have been used to make scale armour since ancient times by the Persians, Greeks and Romans and were still in use by the Byzantines and Vikings until the late Middle Ages. In addition to armour scales made of leather, those made of bronze or iron and even bone or horn were also used.
