Belt plate for straps of 1.5-cm width made from brass.
Belt plates of brass or bronze were used in the Viking era and the Middle Ages often for the connection of buckles and leather belts and, hence, are found rather often in the archaeological material.
The medieval belt plate has the mass 2.5 x 1.4 cm and is suited for straps with a width of 1.5 cm.
The belt plate is suited for strap strengths of 3 to 4 mm.
Connection: The belt plate comes with double head rivets which are led to the connection simply by the suitable holes in the metal and are fitted together. With a few light blows of a hammer on a firm subsoil, the medieval belt plate can be fastened solidly on the belt.
