Medieval pendant "Bagpiper-Creature".

Here you can buy a remarkable medieval pendant showing a bagpiper that was made after a secular badge from the 15th century.

The pendant shows a half human, half animal creature as a medieval minstrel playing a bagpipe, which is very richly detailed.

The original badge dates to the period 1350-1450 AD and comes from the Dutch town of 's-Hertogenbosch. It now belongs to the van Beuningen collection. Koldeweij. Link to the historical model…

The medieval pendant measures 3.2 x 2.6 cm.

The pendant can be easily sewn onto clothing at the openings, so that it can also be used in its original function as a badge on clothing.

You can buy this pendant in high-quality bronze or genuine silver-plated.
Alternatively, also available in 925 sterling silver (please note the delivery time).

There are some medieval depictions of bagpipers, some of them in animal form. Most of them come from England and the Netherlands and date to the fifteenth century. Due to its tendentious form, the bagpipe was associated with sexual sin in the Middle Ages and therefore had something disreputable about it.
