Tribal amulet.
Expressively designed amulet in the shape of a tribal, such as those used as tattoos by the Maori tribes.
The tribal is said to protect the wearer from danger and evil and is regarded as a reward for deeds well done.
Tribal amulet dimensions 4.5 x 2.5 cm.
The pendant is made of cast zinc alloy and is available in brass or silver colour.
A 1 metre long black cotton cord for the tribal amulet is included.
Tribals were originally Indian tribal symbols in the form of tattoos, which had a ritual or socio-cultural meaning. The tribals on the tattoos of the Maoris of New Zealand, for example, represent the strength and courage of a warrior or were intended to protect against "evil".
The tribal warrior received his first tribal when he reached manhood, and another after a great deed, such as killing a large animal or an enemy, or some other service to the tribe.
